Dr.Vahdettin ERTAŞ

He graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences at Ankara University in 1987. In 1991, he completed his master’s degree in the Department of Business Administration at Hacettepe University. He received his MBA degree from Lancaster University in 1996 and earned his PhD in Business Administration from Hacettepe University in 2012.

Ertaş began his career as an Assistant Specialist at the Capital Markets Board (CMB). He was promoted to Specialist in 1991, and in 1997, he was appointed to the Department of Institutional Investors, which regulates and oversees real estate investment funds and trusts, venture capital funds and partnerships, and private pension funds.

Between 2002 and 2005, he served as Head of the Corporate Finance Department. From 2005 to 2006, he was the Chairman of the Gold Exchange. In 2006, he was appointed as a Board Member of the Capital Markets Board. Following six years in this role, he was appointed Chairman of the CMB in 2012. After completing his five-year term in 2017, Ertaş lectured on financial topics at the graduate level in three universities. He continues to provide financial consultancy and serve as an Independent Board Member for leading companies in Turkey.
