Çelik Halat was established in Kocaeli on March 23, 1962 with the partnership of Yatırımlar Holding, Türkiye Sınai Kalkınma Bankası A.Ş., Nuri Rodop, Nedim Rodop and Yüksel Kenanoğlu.

The company, whose shares started to be traded on the stock exchange in 1986, was transferred to Doğan Holding in 1997. On November 29, 2022, Artaş Group and Betatrans companies took over Çelik Halat from Doğan Holding.

Since 2018, Çelik Halat has boasted the country’s first Research and Development Center of certified Wire Rope, continually building on the quality and performance with sustanaible smater solutions perspective of their products.
